• Welcome to San Diego!

Known the world over as America's Finest City.

  • Proper planning for your stay will create a more enjoyable experience..

  • Wouldn't it be nice to have a friend that lived here?

San Diego Michael is your friend in San Diego

  • San Diego Michael will help you make the most of your time

Half Day and Full Day tours priced by the trip, not the passenger.

I am not a man who is given to "loving" inanimate objects, but San Diego is not inanimate. It has Spirit and Vitality.
I have lived all over the USA and this is the city I choose to spend my remaining years in.
Let me show you around. You will feel my enthusiasm in introducing San Diego to you and you to San Diego!

All tours are priced by the trip. My vehicle holds four passengers. Split it up however you like.

I am also experienced in showing people around the entire Southwest. If you want to go see the Grand Canyon (or the Grand Canyon West), while you are here I can do it. I'll even show you the Little Colorado River Gorge. A miniature Grand Canyon just a few miles out the east gate. Or the Amargosa Opera House, created by a woman following her dreams, right in the middle of Death Valley!

I know a lot of off the wall and interesting places other tour guides don't even know about.
I lived in the Southwest most of my life. Maybe my last life too!

  • Hotel Del Coronado
One of the oldest and largest resort destinations in the world. World famous Hotel Dell, as we call it, was built in 1888 and still remains one of the most famous grand hotels. There was even a movie with Marilyn Monroe filmed there called “Some Like It Hot”. Visitors wanting to look around are welcomed.

    La Jolla/Mt Solodad
La Jolla is world famous. Mt Solodad is where La Jollans live. See some beautiful 40 and 50 million dollar mansions.Dr. Seuss wrote his books here. Maybe even see a celebrity. Many here, but I'm sworn to secrecy!

    Julian
An authentic old west town. It even had it's own gold rush.. These days you will find the best Apple Pie you ever had there!.

    Salton Sea (time permitting)
One of the biggest engeneering accidents in history. An attempt to draw water from the Colorado River ended up overwhelming the canal built for it and flooded one of the lowest spots in the USA for two years.

  • We'll start our trip to Los Angeles with a run up I-5 past Pacific Beach, La Jolla, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Encinitas, Lucadia, Carlsbad and Oceanside. Then we will pass by the western side of Camp Pendleton. This base is one of the largest military installations in the world. We will be passing it for about half an hour. Then we pass San Onofre Neuclear Power Plant. It does not work anymore. From here we enter Orange Couty. Look around for real housewives. (sorry, couldn't resist.).

  • Once in LA we will pass Disneyland while we are heading north to Hollywood. In Hollywood we will park and get out to walk the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Once we do that we will continue on to get as close to the Hollywood sign as we can. You'll love being so close to an international symbol of Hollywood. While returning from the mountain we will pass close by for a photo op with the iconic Capitol Records building.

  • We will visit Universal Studios so you can make a selfie with the Universal Studios globe.

  • Let's go see Griffith Observatory. You've seen it in many movies but maybe did not know what it was. Michael J.Fox was shot at there in Back To The Future. Another selfie opportunity.

  • To end our Los Angeles Experience, I'll take you to the Santa Monica Pier and world famous Venice Beach. They're right next to each other, might as well see them both. Now let's go home.

  • Longer Distance Tours

For those of you who want a longer distance tour, like say to Las Vegas, I can comply. I can do tours to anywhere west of the Rockies. Really, I have experience showing people around all over the Southwest.

My first suggestion is the Southern Utah/Northern Arizona area. S.Utah has five national parks. Add to that many state parks and National Monuments. To see what I call the Grand Circle would take a week minimum. Email me to get the itinerary

As a part of a Southern Utah package or as a stand alone tour you can visit the Grand Canyon. If added to a Grand Circle tour allow one additional day. The Grand Canyon picture is next to the definition of Awesome in the dictionary.

While we're cruising around the Southwest we might want to visit Sedona, AZ. Sedona is world famous. There are seven energy vortexes that are in or around Sedona. I'm not sure what that means, but I have had strange experiences in the vortexes twice! I lived in Sedona for a year once.

All in all, for a short day tour to a multi-day tour over long distances you can't find a better tour experience. Not only am I a lot looser than those big organized tours with 40 or so people, when you take a tour with San Diego Michael your tour guide is the owner of the company! I always have in mind earning referrals. I appreciate your business and want you to enjoy it so much you can't wait to tell your friends about it.

    About Michael

Over the years I noticed that a lot of visitors to San Diego had no idea of the rich culture, beautiful places and history that are part of the San Diego Experience. So I took it upon myself to learn a lot of information so I could inform those visitors I met regularly.

I know San Diego better than most natives. Since people who know me kept calling me "San Diego Michael" the name just stuck.

    When I am Open

Tours are available anytime during daylight hours.

One day advance notice is appreciated, but call anytime. I may be able to do a short notice tour.
